falcon webs

Welcome

Welcome to Falcon Webs! We shall introduce ourselves at first; we are Falconers, it all started a about five years ago when we lived in New-Zealand and we always wanted to have an Falcon and we had been talking about it a lot, but we went back to the Netherlands so we yet couldn’t take an bird. When we settled down in the Netherlands we went to an show and met a lot of falconers and decided as family we would start ourselves having birds of prey. We have two birds of prey at the moment and give demonstrations & shows in the Netherlands in the province of Utrecht. Because we saw our birds liked doing shows and demonstrations, they learned a lot from these demonstrations & shows so we started giving more demonstrations and shows.

Nascha - Black Barn owl

This is Nascha our black barn owl (tyto tenebricosa), she has an friendly, active character and is good with children. Nascha is an Female Barn Owl. Nascha is fed by humans since she was born. Nascha is well-suited for children to have her on their hand for the first time, of course with a glove!

AKil Asfour - Harris-Hawk

Akil Asfour is an Harris-Hawk that lives in the desserts of North- and South-America. Akil is an male Harris-Hawk and he’s very social, the Harris-Hawk is an special bird because they live as an co-operative group in the wild. The wings are about one meter long. Because Akil Asfour is an Male he is smaler than a female that’s almost twice as big as the male Harris-Hawk. Akil Asfour was fed by his parents and is able to hunt, but isn’t wild or unfriendly, but even very friendly. Akil and Nascha would never bite, they will only examine your finger for food.
